Consciousness-Based Education

Consciousness-Based education is a scientifically proven program for developing total brain functioning to increase intelligence, creativity, and happiness in students and teachers, and to improve educational outcomes in every school. The CBE program can be easily implemented in any school as a complement to its existing academic program, to create an increasingly happy, orderly, confident, and compassionate student population, receptive to learning and to all things life-supporting.

Hundreds of scientific research studies and educational outcomes of more than 250 schools throughout the world have documented the profound benefits of the CBE program for students, teachers, and administrators of all cultural and educational backgrounds.

Support services for existing schools, new schools, and after-school organizations

  1. Support services for existing schools. The Consciousness-Based education program is easily integrated into any public or private school without making extensive changes to the existing curriculum or schedule. The program has three primary components:
    • Transcendental Meditation program. Professionally trained instructors teach this technique to the school faculty, then to the students, after which the faculty supervise the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique in class for 10 to 15 minutes twice daily.
    • Natural Law curriculum (optional). In addition to the Transcendental Meditation technique, the Natural Law curriculum can be taught at least once per week. In age-appropriate language, it presents universal principles—natural laws—which the students find common to all academic subjects and to their own experience as their creative intelligence develops.
    • Teacher preparation. In-service programs are provided to prepare teachers to teach this curriculum.
  2. Support services for new schools. CBEA provides a complete package of knowledge to found, operate, and govern new charter schools and private schools with a Consciousness-Based education program.
  3. Support services for after-school settings and organizations. CBEA provides guidelines to start Total Knowledge clubs, or to implement the CBE program within the context of an existing after-school club or program.
