Only certified TM teachers can provide instruction in the authentic Transcendental Meditation technique.
In the U.S., the certification of TM teachers is available exclusively from Maharishi Foundation USA, a federally-recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization. Certified TM teachers have successfully completed an intensive 5-month in-residence Teacher Training Course, and they maintain their certification through ongoing professional courses for TM teachers.
Marty (Martha) has been practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique since 1972, and teaching the TM technique since 1973. She received a BA in Psychology from Mary Baldwin College, an MEd and PhD in Educational Psychology and an EDS in Counselor Education from the University of Florida. From 1984-2012 Marty developed academic support programs for law students at the University of Florida, University of Iowa, and Elon University.
She has published articles and books related to law study and legal interviewing and counseling and worked with law students and faculties on six continents. Marty recently retired and is excited to have returned to her first love, teaching the Transcendental Mediation technique. She’s now directing the Gainesville Transcendental Meditation center.
“There is nothing as rewarding as introducing a person to TM because each person who practices the TM Technique begins to unfold unique potential and to meet personal goals, some of which seemed unattainable before using this simple, natural practice.”
Allan, a Vietnam veteran, has been practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique for 40 years. He became a TM Teacher in 1972. He taught for 10 years in Northern California and the remaining years in Florida. Teaching the TM technique has included interviews on local radio talk shows, writing articles and numerous special events.
“TM has been one of the most stabilizing influences in my life and teaching the technique has amplified that influence a thousand times.”
