Only certified TM teachers can provide instruction in the authentic Transcendental Meditation technique.
In the U.S., the certification of TM teachers is available exclusively from Maharishi Foundation USA, a federally-recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization. Certified TM teachers have successfully completed an intensive 5-month in-residence Teacher Training Course, and they maintain their certification through ongoing professional courses for TM teachers.
Carol holds an M.A. in Counselor Education and an M.A. in Maharishi Vedic Science. She first knew that she wanted to teach the Transcendental Meditation technique while working as a high school guidance counselor. She had been practicing the TM technique since 1973, and found that her students were more interested in reducing stress in their lives and finding inner happiness than in solving their day-to-day problems. It was then that she realized that she would have more to offer as a teacher of the TM technique than as a guidance counselor. She and her husband Bob teach the TM program in Southeast and Southwest Iowa, Northern Missouri, and Western Illinois, and have taught in businesses, educational settings, and to individuals from all walks of life. She enjoys bike riding, swimming, hiking, and family.
“I love seeing the positive changes in all the people I teach. I cannot imagine a more fulfilling and worthwhile profession.”
Bob learned the Transcendental Meditation technique in 1968 and became a TM teacher in 1970. He holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from Hofstra University. After teaching the TM technique for over ten years, Bob went into business and raised a family. He returned to teaching full time several years ago, and is now, along with his wife Carol, the Executive Regional Director for the central states area. Bob enjoys traveling, hiking, and playing with his grandchildren.
“It is very fulfilling to see someone learn the Transcendental Meditation technique and begin to experience their own inner peace and tranquility.”
