In the United States, the Transcendental Meditation technique is taught through the Maharishi Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Maharishi Foundation certified teachers of the TM technique not only have many years of experience practicing the technique, they have also successfully completed an intensive 5 month in-residence Teacher Training Course, developed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of the TM program, and maintain their certification through ongoing professional courses for TM teachers.
Only by learning the Transcendental Meditation program from a Maharishi Foundation certified teacher can you be assured of receiving the authentic Transcendental Meditation technique and gaining access to all the advanced programs of knowledge and experience that have been structured for your benefit by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
Denise learned the TM technique in 1968, while she was at the University of Arizona. Right away she became a leader in the Student’s club for TM, and quickly went on to become a Teacher of the TM program in 1971. She earned a PhD in Education from UC Berkeley in order to be more effective in implementing TM in education, and has served for more than 25 years on faculty of Maharishi University of Management in addition to being a Principal at Maharishi School. She is the author of “The TM Book: How to Enjoy the Rest of Your Life” illustrated by Barry Geller, a million copy New York Times best-seller which has been translated into seven languages.
“I love teaching TM because people come to learn it motivated by all that is best about them—their desire to be the best they can be, and contribute the most they can to our human family. Once someone learns TM, they quickly feel less stressed, and grow in the directions they were wanting to grow.”
Joseph learned the Transcendental Meditation technique in Camden, New Jersey in 1975 while in college. He found that TM allowed him to get better grades in the same amount of time, and enjoy more fulfilling personal relationships. He was active at the TM Centers in Philadelphia and South Jersey, and for many years volunteered as a TM program supervisor at Maharishi School in Fairfield. In the early ‘80s, while he lived in rural Kentucky as an owner of a coalmine, he was chosen as a “Kentucky Colonel” for his service educating people about computers. He has many years experience in sales and customer service and enjoys working with people of all ages, especially teenagers. He became a TM teacher in 2006 and has taught extensively in Tucson and Southern Arizona. He and Denise have been married since 1988 and have one daughter who is studying to become a doctor.
“There is nothing better than sitting next to a guy and transcending with him for the first time, unless it is watching the stress dissolve and the enjoyment of life and family shine through based on doing TM twice a day.”
