Research studies have also documented the benefits of the TM technique for anxiety. These studies have been performed at independent institutions such as Harvard and Stanford, and published in peer-reviewed journals. One Stanford study showed that the TM technique was twice as effective at reducing anxiety compared with other meditation techniques, which involved concentration or contemplation.
