After graduating from the University of Alabama where he studied emotional conflict, he taught TM in Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Atlanta before moving to Nashville in 1979 where he and his wife Frances are Co-Directors of the Nashville TM Center.

He is the National Director of TM for Work, coordinating corporate programs throughout the United States.

Charles was formerly the Regional Director of the Southeast.
