How to learn the TM technique
The Transcendental Meditation technique is best learned through 10 classes and a full day retreat over the course of four months. Only certified TM teachers teach the authentic TM technique that can enrich the entirety of your life.

Or if you prefer:
- Watch a pre-recorded video[UPDATE] (under 20 minutes), or
- Attend a live info session with a TM teacher(approximately 1 hour)
When you feel ready to learn,
You will be able to choose:
- A TM Center close to you
- A course with a time and date that fits your schedule. If there are no convenient times, you'll be able to contact a local teacher to discover other options.
- Whether you want to do sessions 2, 3, and 4 in-person or online.
After booking the course, you will receive additional information and be asked to schedule a preparatory call or meeting with your teacher.
The TM training is a 4 month course that consists of 10 classes plus a full day yoga and meditation retreat.
- The first 4 sessions (1.5-2 hours each) are scheduled one per day on 4 consecutive days.
- Session 1 is in-person instruction in the Transcendental Meditation technique.
- Sessions 2, 3, and 4 are group sessions that can be done in-person or online and will build your skill and confidence with an in-depth understanding of this meditation practice.
- Sessions 5-10 are provided over the next 4 months. These 1-hour online group sessions will help you establish a consistent, long term practice.
- The course also includes a full day yoga and meditation retreat that can be done online or in-person.

After completing your TM course, you will have access to continued guidance from any TM teacher throughout the United States and most countries in the world.
You will also have access to the TM app, even if you did not take the hybrid course. There, you will have a convenient timer for your meditations, access to videos, online TM events, and much more.

TM course Day 1: Personal Instruction
The TM course always begins the same way: with an in-person, personalized, private session with a certified TM teacher. In this one-on-one, 1-1.5 hour lesson you will receive your mantra and instructions on how to use it in order to meditate correctly. By the end of this session, you will be able to meditate on your own at home.
Days 2-4 — Choose an option:

A. In-person course
The in-person course lets you take advantage of more interaction and engagement with your TM teacher and benefit from a more structured schedule.
During the days 2, 3, and 4 of the in-person course, you will attend meetings each day with your TM teacher and other new students. These meetings typically last between 1.5-2 hours.

B. Hybrid course
The hybrid course gives you the flexibility to learn at home, at your own pace, according to your schedule. There are two remote elements during Days 2-4: • Self-guided learning where you will review interactive content in the TM app, which takes about 6 hours to complete. If you can't finish it all within 4 days, we ask that you complete it within 8 days. • An online meeting each day with your TM teacher and other new students.
Whether you take the in-person course or the hybrid course, you will learn:
• How to know if you’re meditating correctly • The mechanics of the TM technique • How to fit meditation into your life • What do different experiences during the TM practice mean and how to respond to them • What you can look forward to with regular practice.

Weekly online group classes with 3 options each week:
- Sundays 4:00-5:00 PM
- Mondays 4:00-5:00 PM
- Tuesdays 6:00-7:00 PM
Sessions 8-10:
Monthly online group classes with the same 3 options to join.
Before beginning the course, you will have an opportunity to schedule sessions 5-10. You can discuss alternate options with your teacher if these days/times don't work for you.
